Jaeson Ma: Saved from Death to be Mightily Used of God

I am a fan of Jaeson Ma, one of the singers in the rap duo Namesake.

Today, Nov. 11, he celebrates his 28th birthday. He was born on Nov. 11, 1980.

Why is he so special?

You see, Jaeson was almost aborted by his mom.

He tells his story in the Namesake song "Justice from Heaven":

Look into my eyes, I was born on 11-11, almost aborted and gone
But Father God sent a message from heaven, to tell my mom
That this child ain’t an accident, it’s heaven sent
So Mrs. Ma, would you please repent
That's what my momma did,
She ran out the clinic

God created you and me in His image, with a plan and purpose

His life is a blessing. Right now God is using him to mightily impact the universities in the US. He is a campus minister/pastor and student church planter and he is also being used to impact the Hollywood and the Hongkong entertainment industries.

What if Mrs. Ma didn't run out the clinic? But she did, and Jaeson Ma was born on 11/11/1980.

Population control advocates in the Philippines like to cite Singapore with its two-child policy(stop-at-two policy) and its economic prosperity as a role model for the Philippines. They like to point out how "poor" the Philippines is compared to Singapore because Singapore has managed its population well.

Singapore is now giving away "baby bonuses" to encourage births. Why? They need to import "brains" (some are Filipinos, who went to Singapore not because they couldn't find a job here but because Singapore needed them) because they have few young adults.

I WAS born in the 'stop-at-two' era, and am the younger of two siblings. My mother followed the recent baby bonus updates sardonically, and here is why.

My mother was pressured heavily when she was pregnant with her third child. Whether it was a boy or girl, she never got to find out as the pressure on her was so great (nurses chiding her to follow the law, having to pay a fine should she produce more than two) that she had an abortion a few weeks after she found out about her pregnancy. Had she not aborted that child, I would have a younger sibling of age 25 years, who would have helped to boost Singapore's economy in one way or another.

The following are prayer points for life for the Philippines that I have listed together with verses. The verses come from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible.

Christians from Asian countries can customize these prayer points according to their situation and their government set-up. (Maybe you have a parliamentary form of government, or a federal system, unlike our country.)

If abortion is LEGAL in your country, put these in mind:

1) Christians must pray for abortion to end or become illegal, because abortion is the shedding of innocent blood in God's eyes, whether it is legal or illegal in your country. Such abortion laws are what the Bible describes as "decrees that cause misery". (Psalm 94:20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you-- one that brings on misery by its decrees?)

Genesis 9:6 - Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.

Exodus 20:13 - You shall not murder.

Proverbs 6:16-19There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

2) Christians must not call abortion acceptable

4) Christians must realize that abortion instituted as a law by their government desecrates the and pollutes the land through State-sanctioned bloodshed. And the Lord will avenge that blood.

Numbers 35:33"'Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it…

Hosea 4:2-3There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. Because of this the land mourns…

Isa 5:7… And He looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard cries of distress...

Psalm 106:37-40 They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood. They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves.Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.

PRAYER POINTS FOR LIFE

1.Pray that Supreme Court justices will all value and uphold life as is stated in the Philippine Constitution.Art.2. Sec.12. (Jer 22:3 This is what the LORD says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of his oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the alien, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place….Isaiah 28:6He will be a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.)
2. Pray that the Congressmen, Senators, Mayors and City Councils will uphold life and will not enact any pro-death and pro-abortion laws or city codes. (Amos 5:24
But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!)
3. Pray that God’s will be done in Congress and in local governments. Pray that the pro-death and pro-abortion laws will not prosper. (Psalm 94:20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you-- one that brings on misery by its decrees?)
4. Pray that pro-life Congressmen, Senators and government officials will be elected in the elections. (Daniel 2:21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. )
5. Pray that the culture of death will be replaced by a culture of life. (Deut 30:19 Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.)
6. Pray that abortion will always be illegal in the Philippines. (Psalm 33:5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice.”… Isaiah 1:17 Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.)
7. Pray against the anti-children culture of death. (Psalm 127:3-5 Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.)
8. Pray that born and unborn children will be considered a blessing and not a curse nor a burden to families nor to the nation. (.Malachi 2:15 Has not God made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring.)
9.Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict women who want to have an abortion. (John 16:8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment.)
10.Pray that God will give them strength and a way out of their problems so they don’t consider abortion.
11.Pray that the Lord will grant them love and compassion for their own babies in their wombs.
12.Pray for provision of needs of mothers who decided to keep their babies. (Ps 34:10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.)
13.Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict women who have had abortions. (Ezek 23:36-37 The LORD said to me: "Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then confront them with their detestable practices, for they have committed adultery and blood is on their hands. They committed adultery with their idols; they even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to me, as food for them.)
14.Pray that God will convict parents who forced their children to have abortions. (Psalm 106:38 They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood.)
15.Pray that they will acknowledge that they have sinned and will repent and be reconciled to God. I. OUR CREATOR

Who is the creator of all life? Who created each of us?

Genesis1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Job 10:8-12 "Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me? Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again? Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese, clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews? You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.

Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Psalm 8:4,5 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.

II. GOD, THE UNBORN, AND THE CHILD

Is God involved in our development within the womb?

Job 31:15 Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?

Psalm 139:13-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Isaiah 44:2 This is what the LORD says-- he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

Isaiah 44:24 "This is what the LORD says-- your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,

Is God concerned about us in our unborn (fetal) state or only after birth? Do we have an identity prior to our birth? our conception? Does God have a relationship with the unborn?

Isaiah 40:11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

Isaiah 49:1 Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name.

Isaiah 49:16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

Psalm 22:9,10 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother's breast. From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God.

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Luke 1:15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth.

*The biblical writers, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, used the Greek word "brephos," here translated as baby, referring to the unborn child. Brephos is also found in I Peter 2:2 translated as newborn babies and II Timothy 3:15 as infancy.

Galatians 1:15,16 But when God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man,

Is the fetus a human being?

John 16:21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby* is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. (*Baby is translated from the Greek word, "anthropos," which literally means man or human being.)

What is God's relationship to children?

Psalm 71:6 From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb. I will ever praise you.

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

III. LIFE OR DEATH: OUR RIGHT TO CHOOSE?

Does God give us a choice between life and death? What is His choice for us? (When a pregnancy has been "terminated," what has happened?)

Deuteronomy 30:19 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live

Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder.

Have we been given the "right" to choose death for the unborn?

IV. EVERY WOMAN'S RIGHT TO CONTROL HER OWN BODY - FREEDOM TO CHOOSE

Does every woman have the right to control her own body? Is it her own body? (Does the definition of every woman include the female fetus?)

Ezekiel 18:4 For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son --both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.

Psalm 127:3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.

I Corinthians 6:19,20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God --this is your spiritual act of worship.

Is the "freedom to choose" the primary consideration in the abortion issue? Can freedom be abused? (Consider the fact that the freedom we are talking about is the freedom to choose to abort.)

I Peter 2:16 Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.

V. THE HARD CASES: THE HANDICAPPED, RAPE, AND INCEST

Who is the creator of the "unwanted," "unlovable," "handicapped," "mistake"? Are these cases justifiable reasons for abortion?

(Refer also to Scriptures under "I. OUR CREATOR")

Exodus 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD?

Isaiah 45:9-11 "Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, `What are you making?' Does your work say, `He has no hands'? Woe to him who says to his father, `What have you begotten?' or to his mother, `What have you brought to birth?' "This is what the LORD says-- the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Concerning things to come, do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my hands?

Romans 9:20,21 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, `Why did you make me like this?'" Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

I Corinthians 1:27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

Should the innocent pay for the sins of others? Who are the innocent in a pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, and is abortion acceptable in these cases?

Deuteronomy 24:16 Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin.

VI. OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE UNBORN, THE WOMAN IN CRISIS, AND OUR GOD

What is our responsibility as Christians to those who are handicapped, unwanted, unloved?

Proverbs 21:13 If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.

Galatians 6:2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Proverbs 24:11,12 Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?

Should Christians be involved in the discussion? What are our responsibilities as Christians in influencing our nation's policy on abortion? Should we be concerned about "pushing our morality" on others in trying to establish a pro-life policy?

Must the church take a stand?

When those involved in abortion feel convicted by their actions, what should they do? Who do they need? Does God forgive those who have had abortions?

Celebrating Life

So, I had a beautiful birthday. I'd been
going back and forth about whether to go for the 'Walk
For Life' and I'm glad that I did it.

After all, what better way is there to celebrate
my 35th year of life than by taking part in a
pro-life walk, a walk that calls to mind the need
to cultivate a culture of life, especially during
this, the 35th anniversary of the Roe V Wade, U.S
Supreme Court decision to legalise abortion in the
US.

It is well worth reflecting/contemplating on the
fact that I was born, 35 years ago, just around
the time when the Supreme Court here chose
to allow people to legally abort the unborn
for whatever reasons, whatsoever.

The babies aborted around that time would
have been my age this year. In taking
part in the walk, I felt that it was one
way I could help to give a voice to the
voiceless, to make a stand on behalf
of those who did not have a choice to keep their
lives.

In place of a birthday dinner celebration
as usual, or a birthday cake, or birthday cards,
I broke bread and shared the feast of Christ's
body and blood with my fellow brothers
and sisters in Christ at mass at St. Patrick's
Church, I had the pleasure of enjoying the candles
lit at the Tabernacle and I had a placard to hold
'Women Deserve Better Than Abortion' during the
Walk For Life.

Yes, it took 6 hours to drive there and 6 hours to
drive back to LA, but it was a journey not made
in vain. After all, no life is lived in vain.

It was a celebration of life. The life that is
given to all of us, the life that only He
can give, or take away.

Proverbs 24:11:

Rescue those who are being taken away to death;
hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.

Nothing is said in the verse about the situation in mind. Is it captives taken in war about to be destroyed. Is it victims of vigilante justice? Is it an innocent person wrongly accused in court? Is it murder in the streets? Is it child-sacrifice to pagan gods? The text does not say what the situation is.

We Are Commanded to Intervene

This is typical of biblical proverbs. They are often very general guidelines for how the fear of God works itself out in day-to-day life. God expects us to have enough spiritual wisdom and enough experience from life and enough awareness of his Word to apply these proverbs appropriately.

Verse 11 is a general statement. And the reason it's general is so that we will not limit it to one group of humans and try to leave out another group. We must not limit it to Jews or white people or healthy people or rich people or intelligent people. It is general, not specific.

What, then, does it teach us to do? The duty of verse 11 could be stated like this: "If a group of humans is being taken away to death who ought not be taken away to death, the people who fear God ought to try to rescue them." Or, to use the words of the second half of the verse, "If there is a group of humans who are stumbling [literally: slipping] to the slaughter who ought not to be slipping to the slaughter, the people who fear God ought to try to hold them back from the slaughter." What is being commanded here is some kind of intervention from us when we become aware of humans being killed who ought not to be killed.

Sometimes the Slaughter May Be Cloaked

Then verse 12 anticipates an objection that some people will raise who didn't do anything to try to rescue those who were being taken away to death. It says, "If you say, 'Behold, we did not know this,' does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not requite man according to his work?"

This means that the writer here has in mind the possibility that the slaughter may be cloaked; it may be hidden or concealed or secret enough that people would claim with some plausibility that they didn't know it was going on.

There Will Be No Evasion with God

But the text says the plausibility will not hold with God. In other words the excuse of ignorance is not likely to stand up in God's courtroom. It may stand up in man's courtroom because man cannot weigh the heart. But God knows our motives and our awareness exactly. He sees through all our rationalizations and knows perfectly when we have neglected a duty out of ignorance or out of laziness or fear or apathy or preoccupation with lesser things. There will be no evasion with God.

Notice that the verse does not say, "You claim not to know about the slaughter, but God knows that you do know." It says something more radical. What it says is, "You claim not to know about the slaughter, but God knows how your heart works." In other words God not only knows what we really know inside. He also knows when our ignorance is guilty ignorance.

When we are called to account for our actions, he not only will say, "Why didn't you act this way if you knew this much?" He will also say, "Why did you allow yourself, in view of how much was at stake, to remain in such insensitive ignorance?" And he will know the answer before we give it, because he weighs the hearts of every one of us. "Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it?"

Summary

So our text this morning makes three things clear.

First, it makes clear that when a group of humans are being killed who ought not to be killed, it is our biblical duty to intervene and to try to rescue them and to hold them back from the slaughter.

Second, the text makes clear that sometimes slaughter can be done with enough camouflage that people may try to make a plausible case that they did not really know what was happening.

Third, it makes clear that the excuse of ignorance is not likely to hold with God who not only knows what we really know in our hearts but also what we have willfully neglected to know.

Now I believe very strongly that this is God's word to us today concerning the slaughter of abortion. I believe this text is a clear call to action along with many others of a similar kind (Psalm 82:3–4; Isaiah 58:6–7; James 1:27; 2:14–17; 1 John 3:16–17; etc.).

But before I say more about that action, I need to at least mention in summary form why I think the unborn who are being taken away to death are indeed a group of humans who ought not to be killed in the abortion clinics of our city. And if the unborn are human beings, they qualify for protection under this text.

Are the Unborn Human Beings?

Here are some of my reasons for counting the aborted unborn as human beings in their own right.

1. Genetics

They have been conceived by two human beings, not by two animals or a human and an animal. Therefore they are utterly unique in the animal kingdom. Genetically they are human, not whales or horses or apes.

2. God's Creative Work in the Womb

The Bible teaches that in the womb God is knitting together a person. Psalm 139:13 says, "Thou didst knit ME together in my mother's womb."

3. Personal Description in Scripture

In the Bible the unborn are referred to in personal terms. For example, in Genesis 25:22 Rebekah's pregnancy is described like this: "The children [the ordinary word for children or sons outside the womb] struggled together within her." Luke 1:41 says that "when Elizabeth [who was six months pregnant] heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb." The word for "babe" (brephos) is the same word used in 2:12 and 2:16 for the baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger (and in 18:15 for the infants being brought to Jesus). The unborn are not regarded impersonally in the Bible.

4. How They Look

The unborn look like you and me when they are being aborted. The science of fetology with its photography and ultrasound has opened a window on the womb that is breathtaking. We can now look at these little beings and let their face and eyes and nose and ears and hands and arms and feet and legs testify that they are one of us. There is no question anymore of aborting a mass of tissue or something like an egg yolk........................

Pictures matter. If someone asked you to look at a group of animals and identify which was a human, you would not have any trouble. You would do it on the basis of what it looks like. There is a human likeness. And the unborn have it as early as most abortions take place.

It is not only the still life photographs that make the humanity plain but also the moving pictures of their activity and their recoiling at pain.

5. They Will Grow Up If Left Alone

These little beings will grow up if left alone. If we do not intrude with violence on their life, they will come to maturity. They are not becoming human; they are growing "into the fullness of humanity that they already possess" (John Stott, Christianity Today, 5 Sept. 1980, p. 50f.).

6. Nothing to Disqualify from Being Human

Being tiny does not make them less human. We know this because we don't regard born infants as less human than adults even though they are humorously out of proportion with their big heads and short arms. We've just gotten used to looking at them at that funny stage—and we will get used to looking at the unborn at their stages too when we open our eyes!

Nor does not breathing make the unborn less human. I would not regard Noël as less human if she had to be sustained on a respirator for a few months.

Nor does the lack of rational abilities and language make the unborn less human. We don't hold that against a born infant and there is no reason we should hold it against an unborn infant.

Nor does the location of the unborn inside a woman's womb make it less human. Location is an irrelevant consideration in defining humanity. Nor does the dependence on another for its blood transactions make it less human—not any more than a person who lives by repeated dialysis.

In other words the things that are unusual about the life of the unborn do not disqualify him or her from the human family.

7. Ability to Live Outside the Womb at Earlier Ages

Finally, the unborn are humans because more and more of them at earlier and earlier ages can live outside the womb if cared for adequately. I have a picture here of Kenya King, born in Orlando Florida (four and a half months along). She weighed 18 oz. She is shown here healthy in her mother's arms at five pounds. Alongside this picture is a dead baby the same size as Kenya when she was born. The dead baby was killed by abortion.

Now what is the difference between these babies? One was wanted and the other was not. And, brothers and sisters, that criterion for humanity will not be accepted in heaven! And it ought not to be accepted on the earth. The Bible is full of statements commanding love and protection for the unwanted.

I conclude, then, that the unborn are a group of humans who are not disqualified from the command of Proverbs 24:11 and that when the Bible says, "Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter," we have no right to put the unborn in a subhuman class that does not qualify for our rescue. We ought to rescue as many as we can.

Art. 255. Infanticide. — The penalty provided for parricide in Article 246 and for murder in Article 248 shall be imposed upon any person who shall kill any child less than three days of age.

If the crime penalized in this article be committed by the mother of the child for the purpose of concealing her dishonor, she shall suffer the penalty of prision correccional in its medium and maximum periods, and if said crime be committed for the same purpose by the maternal grandparents or either of them, the penalty shall be prision mayor.

Art. 256. Intentional abortion. — Any person who shall intentionally cause an abortion shall suffer:

1. The penalty of reclusion temporal, if he shall use any violence upon the person of the pregnant woman.

2. The penalty of prision mayor if, without using violence, he shall act without the consent of the woman.

3. The penalty of prision correccional in its medium and maximum periods, if the woman shall have consented.

Art. 257. Unintentional abortion. — The penalty of prision correccional in its minimum and medium period shall be imposed upon any person who shall cause an abortion by violence, but unintentionally.

Art. 258. Abortion practiced by the woman herself of by her parents. — The penalty of prision correccional in its medium and maximum periods shall be imposed upon a woman who shall practice abortion upon herself or shall consent that any other person should do so.

Any woman who shall commit this offense to conceal her dishonor, shall suffer the penalty of prision correccional in its minimum and medium periods.

If this crime be committed by the parents of the pregnant woman or either of them, and they act with the consent of said woman for the purpose of concealing her dishonor, the offenders shall suffer the penalty of prision correccional in its medium and maximum periods.

Art. 259. Abortion practiced by a physician or midwife and dispensing of abortives. — The penalties provided in Article 256 shall be imposed in its maximum period, respectively, upon any physician or midwife who, taking advantage of their scientific knowledge or skill, shall cause an abortion or assist in causing the same.

Any pharmacist who, without the proper prescription from a physician, shall dispense any abortive shall suffer arresto mayor and a fine not exceeding 1,000 pesos.

We should always pray that the laws of our country will always uphold life.

In the Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Laos , Myanmar and Brunei Darassalam, abortion is illegal.

Abortion should always stay illegal because it is the murder, the willful destruction of the life of an unborn baby. We must actively and consistently resist efforts to introduce laws that will condone and decriminalize abortion through the legalization of "post-abortion care", which is deceptively inserted into proposed population control and reproductive health laws and codes. "Post-abortion care" has nothing to do with population, reproduction and family planning. "Post-abortion care" is an oxymoron. The phrase tries to obliterate the fact that an unborn baby was killed as a result of the abortion. It purposefully focuses only on the health of the mother. What about the baby's life? What has been done to care about the baby who was killed? What about the injustice done to the defenseless baby? Unfortunately, many Western countries, like the US, and many Asian countries also, commit abortion as a form of population control and family planning. For them, "reproductive health" includes "abortion rights".

But abortion is not "modern". It is always the shedding of innocent blood, as it has always been in God's eyes. And innocent blood cries out to God for justice. Abortion must never be part of health care because it destroys the life of the unborn baby.

We must not develop the "collective blindness", as American Cathy Cleaver Ruse calls it, that the American culture and other Asian countries' cultures suffer from, the collective blindness to the humanity of the unborn baby and the collective blindness to the barbarity and evil of abortion.

The Moses Generation

I was reading Exodus in my study bible (the NIV Study Bible) then I saw a sidebar among the footnotes on Moses. It says there:

I believe this young generation is a Moses generation. The ones who were born in countries with legalized abortion were essentially born under a death decree. (Ex. Roe v. Wade in the USA)

But this young generation has been drawn out of the Nile (symbolizing death, because the Israelite baby boys were to be thrown into the Nile as part of Pharaoh's decree). They have been drawn out from death, because their courageous parents chose life for them.

The footnotes on Exodus2:10 in my study bible also reveal something interesting. It says:
" Moses. The name, of Egyptian origin means "is born".

This young generation is a "born" generation, the one Satan tried to annihilate through abortion. The generation that has not been annihilated by the "death decree" abortion laws of its nation, the survivors, the "drawn-out" generation, will be the instrument in God's hands to speak out against, siege for, war over, and overturn the death decrees.

Lord, raise up Your Moses generation among the youth of the world to overturn the death decrees in their nations!

In the Philippines, abortion is illegal. The 1987 Philippine Constitution protects the unborn baby from conception. The law considers abortion a crime.The law gives full protection or rigidly controlled life of the mother exception.

What about other countries? What are their abortion laws?

Hongkong: To save the life of the woman, to preserve physical health, to preserve mental health, rape or incest, Fetal impairment, Economic or social reasons, Available on request.

In Hong Kong, abortion is technically only legal for rape, incest, fetal deformity and to save the life of the mother. Malaysia and the Philippines: We must be alert about efforts to overturn the laws in these countries. There is a US-based NGO, the Center for Reproductive Rights, whose main goal is to make abortion legal in the remaining countries which have pro-life laws. They train lawyers and lobbyists to do this.

3. Pray that abortion will always be illegal in the Philippines and Malaysia.
4. Pray that the Lord will thwart the plans of other countries to legalize abortion in these countries.
